Motorcycle crashes significantly contribute to the number of deaths and serious injuries on Victorian roads every year. In order to achieve the vision of eliminating all road fatalities by 2050 in the Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030, motorcycle safety must not be ignored.
Based on the recorded crash data in Victoria since 2012, Road Solutions has conducted an analysis to get some insights into the motorcycle safety issue. The results are presented in the interactive report below. Calendar year, road owner, and different LGA can be selected based on user concerns.
The ranking list of LGAs by annual average motorcycle crash rate per 1,000 residents between 2012 and 2022 is shown in the figure below.
