#89 2026 Australasian Road Safety Conference (1)
The 2026 Australasian Road Safety Conference (ARSC) is being held this week in Sydney from 26-29 October, bringing together practitioners and researchers from government, industry and academia to share their knowledge and expertise. Road Solutions is one of the many participants who will be in attendance from Australia and across the world to present the latest in research findings on road safety and related areas.
Conference theme
The theme for this year’s conference is From Evidence to Action: Shaping a Brighter Future, and recognises that progress toward medium- and long-term road safety targets is lagging in many respects. The conference is promoting ‘impactful collaboration’ and innovation as key pathways through which a brighter future may be realised. Specifically, the conference poses a number of questions for consideration regarding evidence and action, including:
What is the evidence telling us?
How are we transforming evidence into action?
What are our key messages? How do we create a sense of urgency in the community?
How do we educate and persuade leaders, influencers, and the community?
How do we engage key groups (e.g. medical professionals and first responders)?
Further questions are posed on broader challenges for the future:
What challenges threaten road safety?
How do we combat these threats?
What must we do differently?
Keynote speakers
2026 ARSC Keynote speakers offer a wealth of local and international road safety knowledge and experience, including:
Dr Soames Job, CEO and Principal of Global Road Safety Solutions Pty. Ltd.
Tom Flood, Rovelo Creative, Canada
Astrid Linder, Professor of Traffic Safety at Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI).
